PPIA's Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Public Policy and International Affairs Program (PPIA) firmly believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are essential to achieving our mission and vision. Our commitment to these values is at the core of our work to cultivate the next generations of public service and international affairs professionals who reflect the rich diversity of the communities they serve.

PPIA’s mission—to cultivate the next generations of diverse public service and international affairs professionals by investing in their education, essential skills, and networks to affect domestic and global change—is a direct call to create an inclusive environment where individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences can thrive. We are committed to providing equitable opportunities for underrepresented groups, ensuring that future leaders have the tools, support, and access they need to break down barriers, create meaningful change, & make lasting impacts.

Our vision—a thriving and equitable world uplifted by visionary, inclusive, and compassionate leaders—embodies the belief that true progress comes from leaders who understand, embrace, and value diversity in all its forms. We recognize that the challenges of the future, whether domestic or global, require innovative, empathetic, and forward-thinking leadership. This leadership can only be nurtured by creating spaces where all voices are heard, all experiences are valued, and all individuals have an equal opportunity to succeed.

PPIA is unwavering in its dedication to fostering a culture of inclusion that actively supports the success of historically marginalized groups. We strive to ensure that our programs, resources, and opportunities reflect a commitment to eliminating barriers and providing equitable access for all aspiring public service and international affairs professionals.

As an organization, we will continue to empower a diverse, inclusive, and compassionate generation of leaders capable of shaping a more just and equitable world.

In solidarity,

PPIA Executive Committee
