About PPIA

The Public Policy and International Affairs Program (PPIA) is a not-for-profit organization that has been supporting efforts to increase diversity in graduate studies in public policy and international affairs, and public service for over 40 years.

PPIA believes that our democracy will be stronger, less polarized, and more trustworthy when we ensure those entering public service are more representative, compassionate, and inclusive of American identities and global experiences.

Our Vision: A thriving and equitable world uplifted by visionary, inclusive, and compassionate leaders.

Our Mission: Cultivate the next generations of diverse public service and international affairs professionals by investing in their education, essential skills, and networks to effect domestic and global change.

Our Programs: We offer an assortment of rigorous academic fellowship programs for undergraduates looking to advance their careers in public service. Beyond that we offer an assortment of public service expos, conferences and consortiums.

PPIA’s flagship program is the Junior Summer Institute (JSI), a rigorous, academic, fully-funded fellowship program for undergraduate college students from underrepresented backgrounds in public leadership.

About the Public Service Expo: The PPIA Expo allows students and professionals to connect in-person with employers, fellowship opportunities, and the country's top public policy and international affairs graduate programs! Exhibitors participating in the expo share our commitment to increasing diversity and fostering inclusion in public service.

Recognizing the importance of networks, the expo provides a crucial meeting point for hundreds of students and professionals each year to exchange ideas, information, and inspiration. The expo also offers current PPIA Fellows, at Princeton University, Carnegie Mellon University and Harvard University, the opportunity to meet each other and connect with PPIA alumni and Consortium members schools.
