Social Justice and Public Service: Think Globally Act Locally

Los Angeles, California, Friday, July 19- Sunday, July 21, 2019

This 3-day conference will engage students on the topics of social justice and social inclusion. As cities around the world become more diverse, government and its partners are being tasked with finding ways to respond to these differences in constructive ways. Join us, as we explore these issues with an eye on Los Angeles, a truly global city. Transportation, housing, and meals will be provided for conference attendees.

During the conference, you’ll explore:

  • The graduate school admissions and application process
  • Public and non-profit careers in diversity and inclusion
  • Policy advocacy related to diversity and inclusion


  • Must be a rising undergraduate sophomore or rising junior at a 2 or 4-year college or university with interest in the public sector
  • Must live in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, or Washington
  • Must be a citizen of the United States, a legal permanent resident, or qualify for the DREAM Act
  • Preference will be given to traditionally underrepresented students
  • All majors welcome
