“GivingTuesdayâ„¢ is a movement to create a national day of giving…on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The second annual GivingTuesday is on December 3, 2013. In the same way that retail stores take part in Black Friday, we want the giving community to come together for #GivingTuesday. We ask that partners create and commit to a project for/on #GivingTuesday and then help spread the word to their networks.”

How can I participate?

This year, PPIA is joining thousands of organizations across the country to celebrate Giving Tuesday. We know that our network is full of committed, socially conscious individuals who are volunteering and giving back in many ways. To highlight some of these acts of service, PPIA is asking you to think about where and how you want to volunteer in 2014 and create a “Service Resolution” to share through social media. Check out our template below for an easy way to participate:

“In 2014, I pledge to volunteer for [Insert Organization Name] by [Type of Activity].”

If you want to get creative, you can add examples of ways you have volunteered for this group in the past or a story about why this organization’s mission matters to you.
