CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION

The McCourt School of Public Policy and Walsh School of Foreign Service will co-host a public service weekend that examines challenges in the international system through engagement with scholars, research centers, and relevant case studies. PSW participants will join a cohort of diverse thinkers with interesting perspectives and insights about the pressing challenges on the international stage such as climate change, migration, and refugee issues will learn evidence-based approaches to solving critical problems. PSW participants will connect with Georgetown faculty and alumni to learn about career opportunities, and how to effectively prepare for careers in public service.

  • Alumni panel on a policy topic and careers in public policy and international relations
  • Negotiations workshop with the Baker Center for Leadership and Governance
  • Keynotes on policy topics in public policy and international affairs
  • Admissions and applying to graduate school

 

ELIGIBILITY
Undergraduates at a 4-year institution university (preferably rising Juniors, Seniors or recent graduates) who will be studying or working in Washington, DC for the semester. Applicants outside the DC area are welcome to apply, and small travel stipends will be available. Candidates should have an interest in global affairs and public service.
